Creating content for your website is one thing, but to keep the content current could help keep the visitors flowing. As part of your campaign to entice visitors to your website, you should have an idea of the perfect times to post updates and news on social media sites. While some of these times might be quite obvious, it is important that you keep a vigil and commit to your prospective visitors.
1. As It Happens
As soon as the news or product is unveiled is the moment you should be flooding your social media platform of choice. Whether it is commenting on Facebook with a link back to your site for the whole article or producing a quick video on YouTube to get the information out as quickly as possible.
2. Prime Time
Most social media sites have a prime time to post content for the best impact. For the most part, the best time to post on any social media platform is between noon and 4 pm. However, business minded sites such as LinkedIn you’d want to post in the early morning before work hours and after work hours around 5 pm or so. As each social media site has a soul of its own, it is difficult to pinpoint the absolute time to post on all of your favourites at once. It may be a process that you’ll have to post sporadically throughout the day to match each site’s prime time posting for maximum effect.
3. During the Day
Social media sites are more active while people are awake. Posts during the day are the best times to get your information out there with the exception of Pinterest, which peaks during the night between 8pm and 1am. Most of the popular social media platforms are quite inactive during the night hours and posting midnight information on them is the worst time to do it.
4. Trial and Error
As peak times to post rely heavily on the platform you are using, you may have to do a little experimentation. Not all of your fans will be in the same part of the world let alone the same time zone. You may have to test the waters a bit with analytical data of your target audience to determine the best times for your situation.
Keeping with current news is only the beginning of a strong ethic for content building. Knowing the best times to get your information out there on your social media platform of choice could help keep those visitors coming. You don’t want your content to become lost in the posts of others and finding the best methods for yourself is how you’ll succeed in getting the most information out there to as many people as possible.
